Join OPC - New Zealand's leading Outdoor Education provider - and pursue a career in the Outdoors!
OPC is New Zealand's National Outdoor Training Centre. We offer a variety of programmes to get you into instructing, or to kick-start a shift from your current position into the outdoors. We also run courses for those currently involved in outdoor education who have training needs in risk management, outdoor first aid, navigation, bush survival and ropes course safety.
Many of our courses run in conjunction with the New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association and the National Qualifications Framework, giving industry standard and national qualifications. We have some of the most experienced instructors in New Zealand and members of the NZ Outdoor Instructors Association. They are skilled at providing experiences in suitable environments to make learning enjoyable and challenging to suit your particular level.
The unique ingredient to learning at OPC is that the Centre is a 'living, breathing' operation with client groups (schools, individuals and businesses) attending OPC on a daily basis. Instructor trainees will benefit by learning skills from the our instructors, and gaining experience through observation and hands-on instruction in this 'working' environment.
