:: HISTORY OF OPC

Over the past 36 years, OPC has developed into New Zealand 's largest outdoor education centre running courses for youth and schools from all over New Zealand. OPC now runs professional courses in outdoor skills, leadership, and experiential staff training.

OPC is also a registered tertiary education institution, offering reputable tertiary qualifications in outdoor education disciplines, and is recognised by SPARC as The National Training Centre for training outdoor professionals.

While OPC has developed and increased the diversity of programmes that it offers, the original vision and philosophy behind the programmes has changed very little - as expressed in the OPC Mission Statement and Core Values endorsed by Sir Ed.
